AMMAN — King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday, in the presence of Bahrain Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister, during which Safadi conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings and best wishes for continued progress, prosperity, and enhanced bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, King Hamad expressed pride in the historic and close ties between Jordan and Bahrain, describing them as enduring, strong, and steadily evolving through mutual commitment to advancing shared goals and aspirations.
He also sent his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah, wishing Jordan further growth and prosperity, and emphasised the importance of ongoing dialogue, consultation, and coordination between the two countries in light of regional developments, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The Bahraini monarch praised King Abdullah’s efforts to reinforce bilateral relations, strengthen joint Arab action, and promote peace, security, and stability in the region.
Safadi also reiterated Jordan’s appreciation for King Hamad’s role in deepening the ties between the two kingdoms and highlighted Bahrain’s continued leadership in supporting Arab causes.
He also highlighted the strong and expanding Jordan-Bahrain partnership, which continues to grow across multiple sectors, serving the interests of both nations.
Following the meeting, Safadi held extended talks with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on enhancing bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and developmental areas and elevating relations to broader levels.
The two ministers emphasised continued coordination in international forums, particularly during Bahrain’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. Safadi also congratulated Zayani on Bahrain’s membership, highlighting its role in supporting Arab causes, reinforcing collective action, and promoting regional security and stability.
The discussions also covered regional and international developments, focusing on efforts to achieve peace, security, and a just settlement in the region. The ministers also called for full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire and a swift transition to the second phase of the agreement under the US plan, stressing the need for prompt and sufficient humanitarian aid.
Both officials underscored the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on a two-state solution, in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
They reiterated support for Syria’s reconstruction and stability, Lebanon’s security, and efforts to resolve crises in Yemen and Sudan in ways that safeguard security, stability, and citizens’ aspirations.
Safadi also attended the Bahraini Diplomatic Forum on the occasion of Bahrain’s Diplomatic Day, participating in a panel on bilateral relations and regional developments.
He also commended his Bahraini counterpart for the invitation and reaffirmed the historic ties between Jordan and Bahrain, emphasising the continuation of partnerships to create new opportunities and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the session, Safadi highlighted Bahrain’s Security Council membership, noting that it represents the Arab world at a critical time and reflects Bahrain’s foreign policy, marked by wisdom, moderation, and balance.
