Gov't has well-defined work plan to deliver tangible results — prime minister

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan said on Sunday that the government has a well-defined work plan and a full understanding of the challenges ahead, stressing its focus on practical solutions and tangible achievements.

In an interview with Jordan TV, Hassan said that the Royal Letter of Designation and the government’s assigned tasks are clear, adding that the executive programme and work plan for the coming years would be launched within days and would include dozens of initiatives, programmes, and legislative measures, all with clear timelines and measurable outcomes.

Hassan described the government’s vision for economic, administrative, and political modernisation as the backbone of its work, calling it “Jordan’s project for the future.” He emphasised that all programmes are primarily aimed at creating job opportunities and sustainable income for young people, a central priority guiding the government’s efforts over the next decade.

The prime minister also highlighted the importance of field visits, a responsibility outlined in the Royal Letter of Designation. “Direct engagement with citizens is an essential part of any government’s work,” he said, adding, “Fieldwork is my approach and my method, and I will continue it until the last day of the government’s term.”

He noted that this approach is reflected in near-monthly Cabinet meetings held across the Kingdom and in ongoing development programmes.

Hassan said field visits are not only a responsibility of the prime minister but also of ministers, local administrations, and ministry directorates, adding that they allow officials to follow up on tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that field-level operations are effective. He stressed that being aware of on-the-ground realities is critical for shaping policies and making informed decisions that respond to citizens’ actual needs.

The Premier also said that holding Cabinet meetings in the governorates reinforces government accountability. “Each minister has committed before elected bodies and the governorate’s deputies to implement specific projects within a clear timeframe and budget. I am answerable before the ministers, and this is both my personal commitment and that of the government as a whole,” Hassan said.

Regarding follow-up, Hassan said the Prime Ministry has established a specialised unit to monitor field visits, track each site, and ensure actions instructed are implemented efficiently, promptly, and in coordination with relevant authorities.

He also noted that the credibility of the government and its officials is measured by their ability to deliver on promises, stressing that the government is focusing on the education and health sectors, which are central to providing quality services to citizens. He added that concrete measures have already been implemented in both sectors in recent months.
