AMMAN — A delegation from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), led by Daifallah Farajat, met on Monday with a Libyan Civil Aviation Authority delegation headed by Mohamed Shlibek to discuss cooperation in air transport.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the eighth meeting of directors general of civil aviation in the Middle East, held in Doha, Qatar, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to add the Misrata–Amman route, in both directions, to their schedule of air routes.
The agreement authorises designated air carriers from both sides to operate seven scheduled weekly flights on the route, carrying passengers, cargo and mail, in accordance with the third and fourth freedoms of the air.
Both sides stressed their commitment to continued coordination to strengthen cooperation in the civil aviation and air transport sectors.
The talks highlighted the longstanding relations between the two countries and addressed the need to review the air services agreement in line with recent developments in the air transport industry.
