AMMAN — The European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham Jordan) and the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to boost economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Jordan and the EU, with a focus on Germany.
The MoU was signed by EuroCham Jordan Chairman Mohammad Samadi, alongside AHK CEO Maren Diale-Schellschmidt and AHK Regional Director for Jordan and Lebanon Mohanad Salah El Din.
The agreement aims to build structured, practical cooperation connecting Jordanian firms with European and German counterparts, enhancing trade and investment opportunities, and improving market access, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Key areas of cooperation include exchanging economic and regulatory information, facilitating business-to-business meetings, organising trade missions and delegations, participating in business forums, and jointly promoting economic initiatives.
The partnership will support companies entering markets, identifying trade partners, and understanding business practices. It will also focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing regarding EU trade tools, rules of origin, and market access requirements.
Under the MoU, both parties will designate focal points to follow up on joint activities, establishing a flexible framework for projects and initiatives.
Samadi said that the signing represents a practical step to connect the Jordanian business community with European networks, turning institutional ties into tangible opportunities for local companies in trade, investment, and industrial partnerships.
He highlighted Germany as a pivotal economic partner for Jordan within the EU, noting that collaborating with AHK will help reach German businesses effectively, attract investment and support Jordan's market access.
He added that the upcoming phase will focus on executing targeted programmes, trade missions and sectoral events.
Established in 2025, EuroCham Jordan works to strengthen ties between Jordan and EU member states by deepening cooperation with European business institutions.
AHK was founded in 1976 to build bridges of economic cooperation between Germany and Arab nations.
