AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday received a phone call from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric.

 

During the call, Safadi and Spoljaric discussed ways to advance existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the ICRC, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

 

They also reviewed ongoing preparations to host the high-level conference on "Humanity in War", set to take place in Jordan in the fourth quarter of 2026.

 

The event falls within the framework of the global initiative to strengthen political commitment to international humanitarian law, launched in 2024 by Jordan, Brazil, South Africa, China, France and Kazakhstan, in partnership with the ICRC.
