Jordan’s real estate trading rises 15% in July to JD673.8 million

AMMAN — Real estate trading volume in the Kingdom rose 15 per cent month-on-month in July to JD673.8 million, although it was down 10 per cent from the same month last year, according to the Department of Lands and Survey’s monthly report.
 
For the first seven months of 2026, total real estate trading stood at JD3.716 billion, down 4 per cent from the same period in 2025.
 
Real estate revenues reached JD154.7 million during the January-July period, up 4 per cent year-on-year. In July, revenues fell 2 per cent compared with the same month last year but rose 7 per cent from June to JD25.8 million.
 
The report showed that real estate sales activity declined 10 per cent during the first seven months of the year, with apartment sales falling 7 per cent and land sales dropping 11 per cent compared with the same period in 2025.
 
In July, overall property sales fell 16 per cent year-on-year but increased 17 per cent from the previous month.
 
Apartment sales declined 12 per cent compared with July 2025 but rose 18% from June. Land sales fell 17 per cent year-on-year but increased 17 per cent month-on-month.
 
The total number of properties sold to companies in Jordan during the first seven months of 2026 reached 5,674.
 
Non-Jordanian ownership
 
The number of property ownership transactions by non-Jordanians fell 5 per cent during the first seven months of 2026 compared with the same period last year.
 
Apartment ownership transactions by non-Jordanians increased 2 per cent, while land transactions declined 16 per cent.
 
In July, the number of property ownership transactions by non-Jordanians fell 1 per cent year-on-year but rose 17 per cent from June.
 
Apartment transactions decreased 7 per cent compared with July 2025 but increased 15 per cent from the previous month. Land transactions rose 11 per cent year-on-year and 19 per cent month-on-month.
 
Despite the decline in the number of transactions, the estimated value of property acquisitions by non-Jordanians rose 15 per cent during the first seven months of 2026 to JD123.4 million.
 
In July alone, the estimated value of property acquisitions by non-Jordanians jumped 45 per cent compared with the same month last year, but fell 2 per cent from June to JD23.7 million.
