AMMAN — The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Social Development on Thursday launched the pilot version of the national donations platform “Oun”.
The launch precedes the official start of donations on February 26, allowing citizens at this stage to explore the platform’s services and learn how to use it, ahead of activating digital contributions through available electronic payment methods, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
“Oun” is a government digital platform dedicated to organising and collecting donations for underprivileged Jordanian families.
The platform operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development, with technical support from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and aims to enhance the efficiency of charitable work while ensuring aid reaches beneficiaries through a transparent, reliable and secure official digital channel.
The platform offers a streamlined digital donation experience, enabling individuals and companies to support beneficiary families anytime and from anywhere via electronic payment tools and digital wallets.
It serves as a digital link between donors and licensed charitable institutions and associations registered with the ministry across the Kingdom’s governorates.
While charities are responsible for delivering donations to eligible families, the government platform’s role is limited to organising, tracking and electronically monitoring the process in a manner that ensures transparency, accountability and efficient delivery of support.
In cooperation with charitable institutions, the platform focuses on key areas of assistance, including food parcels for the most vulnerable families, healthcare and medication, educational support such as school supplies and bags for students in need, childcare essentials including milk and diapers, as well as housing support covering rent and home maintenance.
It also provides clear campaign information and continuous updates on progress and outcomes to enhance transparency and trust.
The two ministries said that the pilot launch is intended to familiarise users with the platform’s features and receive feedback to further refine the system before its full rollout.
They added that the platform was fully developed and funded through a donation from a Jordanian entrepreneurial company, without any cost to the Treasury, reflecting the private sector’s social responsibility and its support for national efforts to advance digital transformation and strengthen charitable and social work in the Kingdom.
Individuals and companies wishing to donate can access the “Oun” platform at: https://oun.jo to learn more about its services and digital donation mechanism.
