Army says two missiles intercepted after Iran targets Kingdom

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) said on Friday that Iran had targeted the Kingdom with two missiles over the past 24 hours.
 
JAF Media Directorate said in a statement the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down two missiles that were heading towards sites inside Jordanian territory.
 
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that its relevant units responded to 17 reports of falling shrapnel and projectiles during the same period.
 
Two people were injured in Zarqa Governorate as a result of the incidents and were reported to be in moderate condition, the PSD said.
 
Material damage was also recorded, including a house in Zarqa affected by a blast shockwave and a vehicle in the southern Karak Governorate struck by shrapnel.
 
PSD warned the public against approaching or handling any suspicious objects or debris, citing safety risks.
 
It also urged citizens to follow official guidance and report any such findings to security services via the emergency number 911.
 
PSD also stressed the importance of adhering to instructions, relying on information issued by official sources, and avoiding the spread of rumors and misleading news.
