The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Arab Potash Company (APC) reported a 34 per cent increase in net profit after provisions, income tax and mining fees during the first nine months of 2026, reaching JD169 million, compared with JD127 million in the corresponding period of 2025.

According to the company's data, operating profit from core potash operations rose by 66 per cent to JD175 million, up from JD105 million in the same period last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Net sales revenue increased by 16 per cent to JD563 million, compared with JD488 million previously, while investments in associate companies generated JD41 million in investment income, marking a 40 per cent increase.

Total production reached 2.19 million tonnes by the end of the third quarter, up 2 per cent from 2.15 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.

Sales volume also reached a record of 2.25 million tonnes, representing a 3 per cent increase from 2.18 million tonnes.

APC and its subsidiaries injected $1.23 billion in foreign currency into the Kingdom's banking system by the end of September, a 19 per cent increase compared with the $1.03 billion recorded during the same period last year.

APC Chairman Shehada Abu Hdeib, said the financial and operational results reflect effective long-term corporate planning and the company's ability to maintain sustainable growth despite mounting geopolitical challenges.

He said the performance reinforces the company's position as a strategic pillar of the national economy, contributing to foreign currency reserves and stimulating local investment and industry.

Abu Hdeib added that advancing capital projects would enhance Jordan's global competitiveness in the mining sector. He also commended the efforts of the executive management and workforce in safeguarding shareholders' interests and supporting comprehensive socio-economic development.

APC Chief Executive Officer Maen Nsour, attributed the strong financial results to targeted marketing strategies aimed at expanding the company's presence in high-margin markets while consolidating its established export shares in major traditional markets.

Nsour said prudent management of production efficiency and supply chains, alongside the adoption of alternative shipping solutions amid challenging geopolitical conditions, had enabled the company to navigate volatility in maritime transport and fulfil its contractual commitments across global markets.

He added that APC was pressing ahead with its expansion plans, led by the Southern Expansion Project, to increase production capacity and meet growing international demand for potash and fertiliser products, while boosting the mining sector's contribution to GDP.

APC continues to implement its strategic plans, focusing on sustainability, digital transformation and reducing its carbon footprint, alongside expanding downstream derivative industries to maximise the added value of national mineral resources, in line with the Kingdom's Economic Modernisation Vision.
