AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Saturday held a telephone call with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

 

The two ministers discussed efforts to restore regional calm, end the escalation, and ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran on June 15, 2026, according to a ministry statement.

 

Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of ending the dangerous escalation, warned of its consequences, and highlighted the need to return to the negotiation table and adopt dialogue to resolve the crisis, Jordan News Agency, reported.

 

Safadi praised Qatar's continuous efforts to ensure the implementation of the agreement, restore calm, and achieve stability.

 

The two ministers also confirmed their solidarity against all threats to their security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

 

They also discussed several bilateral issues to enhance the strategic relations between the two countries.
