AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein met with France President Emmanuel Macron on Friday, on the margins of the informal meeting of the European Union and key regional partners in Nicosia.
His Royal Highness expressed pride in the strong friendship between Jordan and France, emphasising the importance of building on ties across a number of fields, particularly economic ones, according to a Royal Court statement.
The discussion addressed the latest developments in the Middle East, with the Crown Prince stressing the importance of sustaining the ceasefire agreement to prevent a dangerous resurgence of escalation.
His Royal Highness also noted the need to continue supporting Lebanon’s efforts to maintain its security, stability, and sovereignty, and to ensure the continued delivery of necessary aid.
The Crown Prince also called for stepping up international efforts to halt Israel’s attempts to annex land in the West Bank, as well as its attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, the statement said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting.
