AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi discussed with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas efforts to achieve ceasefire in Lebanon.

 

During a phone call with Rubio discussed mechanisms to provide support to the Lebanese government anf humanitarian assistance to displaced Lebanese people.

 

The two top diplomats also discussed efforts to achieve lasting regional stability following the US-Iran ceasefire, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

 

Safadi and Kallas also discussed efforts underway to achieve “immediate” ceasefire in Lebanon and end the “dangerous” regional escalation.

 

During another telephone call with Kallas, Safadi discussed coordinating efforts to assist the Lebanese government to be able to provide support for over a million displaced people as a result of Israeli attacks on their villages and towns, another ministry statement said.
