AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the “Al Birr and Al Ihsan” Campaign, on Tuesday delivered aid as part of the campaign’s Ramadan initiatives to targeted groups in the Jabal Al Nasr area of Amman.
At the Prince Hassan Camp Services Committee headquarters, established by a Royal decree, Princess Basma handed over support allocated to five women to develop their productive projects, as well as assistance for ten university students pursuing fields aligned with labour market needs.
At the Yarab Developmental Charity Association, the Princess delivered campaign support to equip the association’s production kitchen with tools and supplies, enabling it to provide jobs for four women.
The enhancement allows the kitchen to expand its services and increase revenue, helping to fund the association’s developmental programs for the targeted communities, the Jordan news agency, Petra, reported.
The campaign also provided ingredients for iftar meals, which the kitchen will prepare and distribute to 100 families in the Al Nasr Camp area.
During the handover, Princess Basma praised the women managing home-based productive projects for their determination and innovative ideas, which benefit their families and the wider community.
The event was attended by Marka District Governor Ahmed Al Zuboun, Prince Hassan Camp Committee Chair Ziad Salman, and Yarab Charity Association Chair Jalal Salman.
Princess Basma emphasised the campaign’s commitment to supporting its partners by providing opportunities for project success and sustainability. She highlighted efforts to equip women with the skills needed to manage and market their initiatives, contributing to broader economic and social development.
She added that the campaign’s activities and partnerships reflect a dedication to enhancing social solidarity, promoting sustainable entrepreneurial projects, and recognising the vital role of women in societal and developmental progress.
Prince Hassan Camp Committee Chair Ziad Salman highlighted the committee’s work through its zakat committees and expressed pride in the Kingdom’s efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, including His Majesty’s emphasis on the critical role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Salman praised the Campaign’s collaboration with the Prince Hassan Camp Committee, noting its contribution to national developmental goals, poverty reduction, job creation, and enhanced opportunities for local communities.
Chair of the Yarab Developmental Charity Association Jalal Salman highlighted the association’s objectives, including creating a safe environment for children, providing psychological support and case management, and enhancing personal and cognitive skills of children and youth through structured educational programmes
