Foreign minister conveys King's greetings to Venezuelan acting president

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met on Thursday with Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez in Caracas, where he conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah and reiterated the King’s keenness to advance relations between the two countries.
 
Rodriguez asked Safadi to extend her greetings to His Majesty, underscoring Venezuela’s interest in strengthening bilateral ties across a range of fields.
 
The discussions focused on prospects for expanding economic cooperation and deepening coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
 
Upon his arrival in Venezuela, Safadi met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, with extensive talks centring on enhancing cooperation in key sectors including energy, oil and gas, tourism, culture, trade and investment to serve the interests of both nations.
 
The two ministers also reviewed a range of regional and global developments, stressing the importance of joint efforts to reinforce regional and international security and stability.
 
Safadi and Gil agreed to develop a clear roadmap identifying promising areas for economic collaboration and mechanisms to advance them, as well as to expedite the signing of bilateral agreements to further deepen ties.
 
They also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on political consultations, setting the stage for regular meetings to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Venezuela.
 
Jordan and Venezuela have previously signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visas.
