AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Sunday reiterated their commitment to enhancing the Amman-London partnership and deepening joint efforts to achieve regional security and stability.

During a phone call, Safadi and Miliband explored avenues to expand cooperation across various fields, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The two ministers also reviewed regional developments, stressing support for efforts to end the dangerous escalation in the region.

Safadi and Miliband also emphasised continued collaboration to stabilise Gaza and ensure the adequate and sustainable delivery of humanitarian assistance to the strip.

Discussing the "dangerous" deterioration in the occupied West Bank, Safadi warned against Israel's illegal, escalatory measures, which threaten to push the West Bank towards an explosion and fuel conflict in the region.

He appreciated the UK's support for the two-state solution as a path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability for all parties.

‏Safadi congratulated Miliband on assuming his position as UK foreign secretary, expressing keenness to work together to develop bilateral cooperation and foster security and stability in the region.
