AMMAN — A joint international humanitarian aid convoy departed Jordan on Thursday for Lebanon, carrying essential food supplies, tents, and relief materials.

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) said in a statement that the 19-truck convoy was organised through a collaborative effort between Jordan, 10 friendly nations, and the European Union.

The JHCO said that this initiative follows Royal directives to support Lebanon and is being implemented in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, and the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army.

International partners contributing to the relief effort include Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Romania, the European Union, Portugal, Germany, Singapore, Luxembourg, Spain, and the Netherlands, it said.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli emphasised that this movement ensures the efficient and rapid delivery of aid according to the highest humanitarian standards.

"This convoy solidifies the Kingdom's pivotal role as a regional hub for humanitarian action and a trusted center for coordinating international efforts," Shibli said. "It reflects the high level of international confidence in the JHCO as a logistical and coordination platform for humanitarian work."

Shibli extended his gratitude to Syria for their efforts in facilitating the convoy's transit through Syrian territory.

This latest dispatch brings the total to 40 trucks sent by Jordan over the past few weeks to support the Lebanese people in response to the ongoing humanitarian situation.
