AMMAN — Jordan has condemned an Iranian attack targeting two tankers operated by UAE energy company ADNOC while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and a threat to the safety of maritime navigation.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined Jordan’s rejection and condemnation of the attack and expressed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.
The ministry said that Jordan stands firmly with the UAE in any measures it takes to protect its security, stability and national assets.
The United Arab Emirates on Friday condemned Iran, saying it had attacked two vessels linked to state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while they passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
"The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned and denounced the hostile Iranian attack that targeted two vessels affiliated with ADNOC as they transited the Strait of Hormuz, with no injuries reported," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
