AMMAN — Amman Vision for Processing and Recycling has launched a media and advertising campaign through its social media platforms to introduce the Greater Amman Municipality’s project to develop the capital’s cleanliness and waste management system.
Chief Executive Officer Amjad Anasweh said the project represents an important step towards improving waste management in the capital and enhancing its urban environment, Al Mamlaka TV reported.
Anasweh noted that the new waste containers will feature modern designs better suited for use in residential neighbourhoods and main streets, helping to organise waste disposal and reduce random dumping. The containers will also support waste sorting and recycling efforts.
He added that the initiative forms part of a broader vision to develop the waste management sector in Amman, with the company seeking to introduce innovative solutions that maximise the use of waste and transform it into reusable resources, in line with global trends towards the circular economy and environmental sustainability.
The campaign will also include awareness messages targeting residents of the capital, encouraging community participation in maintaining the city’s cleanliness and promoting positive environmental practices.
The company is expected to reveal further details in the coming period regarding the project and its implementation phases, including new container models and plans for their distribution across different areas of the capital.
The project comes as part of Greater Amman Municipality’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with the private sector, to develop municipal services and enhance environmental sustainability, contributing to improving the quality of life for Amman’s residents.
The campaign will also promote a modern fleet of advanced vehicles, including waste compactors and street sweepers, as well as specialised equipment for tunnel cleaning and the washing and sanitisation of waste containers.
The system will also introduce electric-powered vehicles as part of efforts to adopt environmentally friendly solutions that help reduce emissions and enhance sustainability in sanitation services.
The project follows the approval of the agreement by the Greater Amman Municipality committee, which aims to improve the efficiency of waste management in the city and develop mechanisms for waste collection, transport and processing in line with internationally recognised environmental standards and practices.
