Jordan condemns ‘terrorist’ attack in Damascus

AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday condemned the “terrorist” bombing that targeted a café near the Palace of Justice in Damascus.
 
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali reaffirmed Jordan's full solidarity with the government and people of Syria, stressing the Kingdom's rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.
 
Majali also reiterated Jordan's support for Syria's security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens, according to a ministry statement.
 
He extended his condolences to the Syrian government and people, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
 
A bomb blast rocked a cafe in Syria's capital Damascus on Thursday, killing nine people and wounding 20, authorities said.
 
The explosion that occurred in a cafe near the Palace of Justice in Damascus resulted from an explosive device planted in the location," state television said.
