AMMAN — President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce Khalil Haj Tawfiq on Thursday stressed the importance of Jordanian-Turkish relations and the need to further develop them in ways that serve mutual interests and create more opportunities for the private sectors of both countries.

 

Speaking at a ceremony honouring Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Yakup Caymazoglu at the end of his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom, Haj Tawfiq highlighted promising opportunities to expand economic cooperation, including boosting trade and investment, fostering business partnerships, organising business meetings and delegation exchanges and benefiting from the expertise and capabilities available in both countries.

 

Caymazoglu expressed appreciation to the Jordan and Amman chambers of commerce for their cooperation during his tenure, praising their coordination and support for the embassy’s efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

He also commended the cooperation of Jordanian public and private institutions, saying it had helped facilitate the embassy’s work, strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries and open new channels for economic and investment cooperation.

 

The ambassador expressed confidence that Jordanian-Turkish relations would continue to advance, particularly in trade, economic and investment fields, and voiced hope for stronger communication between businesspeople, increased joint investment and more private-sector partnerships.

 

Members of the chambers’ boards also praised Caymazoglu’s cooperation and openness towards the business community, stressing the importance of maintaining institutional communication with the Turkish Embassy and the private sectors of both countries and building on existing partnerships.
