AMMAN — The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has joined the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB), strengthening international cooperation and the exchange of expertise in election management.

 

Addressing A-WEB members on Thursday, IEC Chief Commissioner Musa Maaytah stressed the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange in improving electoral practices and upholding integrity, transparency and participation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

The IEC said that the membership aligns with its strategy to strengthen international cooperation, engage with other electoral authorities and benchmark its practices against international standards to improve Jordan’s electoral framework.

 

A-WEB is an international organisation comprising more than 120 election management bodies worldwide. It works to build institutional capacity and promote transparent electoral processes.
