AMMAN — In the presence of HRH Princess Alia Tabbaa, chairperson of the Zaha Cultural Centre, the centre and the French Institute in Jordan have signed a cooperation agreement to expand cultural and educational programmes for children and youth across the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed by Zaha Cultural Centre Executive Director Rania Sbeih and French Institute in Jordan Director Luc Chevalier, in the presence of French Ambassador to Jordan Franck Gellet and several officials, Al Mamlaka TV reported.
The agreement builds on more than a year of cooperation between the two institutions.
During that period, the Zaha Cultural Centre partnered with the French Institute in Jordan in organising activities under the "IFJ Nomade" project, which aims to provide interactive and cultural programmes for Jordanian youth and promote awareness of French language and culture.
The agreement includes organising a joint summer tour that was launched in 2024 in Madaba before expanding to 10 centres across the Kingdom.
The activities focus on Francophone cultures, environmental awareness, arts and digital technology through interactive programmes targeting children and teenagers.
The partnership also includes cooperation during “Environment Month”, organised by the French embassy in Jordan in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, through awareness sessions and youth activities at Zaha centres.
The agreement further includes launching pilot French language courses at the Zaha Cultural Centre in Amman for children and youth, with plans to expand the programme based on demand.
