House speaker, Australian ambassador discuss parliamentary, bilateral cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Wednesday met with Australian Ambassador to Jordan Paula Ganly to discuss cooperation across various fields, particularly in parliamentary affairs.
 
During the meeting, attended by First Deputy Speaker Khamees Attieh and MPs Ayman Badadweh and Abdul Raouf Rabiehat, Qadi commended the strong relations between Jordan and Australia, praising the level of partnership that serves the interests of both nations, according to Al Mamlaka TV.
 
He noted that His Majesty King Abdullah’s address to the United Nations General Assembly presented a “comprehensive” vision for addressing regional crises, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, stressing that the speech constitutes a clear roadmap towards achieving a just peace based on the two-state solution.
 
For her part, Ganly highlighted the depth of bilateral ties, praising Jordan’s role under King Abdullah’s leadership in promoting regional peace and stability.
 
She reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Kingdom across various fields to serve mutual interests, reiterating her country’s firm support for the two-state solution.
