AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan conducted field inspection tours covering 130 sites across all governorates over 447 days since the formation of the government, according to the periodic report released Sunday by the Prime Ministry.
The report said that the visits spanned 35 districts, four sub-districts and 44 municipalities nationwide, resulting in 308 measures across various service sectors. Of these, 195 measures have been completed, while work continues on the remainder.
The measures targeted health, social care and local services, education, vocational and technical training, agricultural and industrial production, and tourism.
In the health sector, interventions were carried out at 21 health centres and 13 hospitals visited by the prime minister, benefiting more than 5.5 million citizens annually. Among the key developments was the launch of trial operations at the new Princess Basma Hospital in Irbid after years of delay. The nine-storey hospital has a capacity of 566 beds, including 60 intensive care beds.
In education, comprehensive maintenance works were completed at 26 schools serving more than 22,000 students, including Al Shoubak Agricultural School in Maan.
Social care and local services interventions were implemented at 27 sites, benefiting nearly 235,000 citizens. These included the completion of maintenance works at Al Amal Centre for Special Education in Bani Kinanah District within three months, upgrades to facilities and the provision of a bus for enrolled children.
The report also highlighted infrastructure development and programme upgrades at five vocational training institutes, benefiting about 2,500 young men and women, alongside support for graduates to establish productive projects. The institutes included Theodor Schneller School in Russeifeh and vocational training centres in Salt, Ajloun, Mafraq and Moab in Karak.
In the youth sector, programmes were developed and initiatives supported at 12 youth centres and clubs, benefiting approximately 158,000 young people. The report cited comprehensive upgrades at Hussein Youth City, which receives more than two million visitors annually, at a cost of around JD3 million, largely funded through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Among the key youth-related measures was the acceleration of the Prince Faisal Youth City project, with all three phases completed this year instead of next year, benefiting more than 61,000 citizens.
In the agricultural and industrial production sector, measures were implemented at 16 sites, benefiting nearly 20,000 citizens. Maintenance, rehabilitation and development works were also carried out at nine tourism sites that attract more than 153,000 visitors annually, the report said.
