US President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that 'Israel' has agreed to the "necessary conditions" for a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, calling it a critical step toward ending the nearly 21-month-long war.
In a post shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump described a meeting between his representatives and 'Israeli' officials as “long and productive,” signaling a potential breakthrough in months of stalled negotiations.
"Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War," Trump wrote.
The ceasefire framework, according to Trump, is expected to be delivered to Hamas by Qatari and Egyptian mediators, two key regional players that have been deeply involved in the diplomatic efforts to end the fighting.
"I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE," he warned in his post.
