JHCO continues to provide potable water to Gazans

AMMAN — Jordan's ongoing humanitarian efforts continue to provide potable water to families in the Gaza Strip amid severe daily challenges in accessing clean water, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) said on Tuesday.

The aid, supported by Khair Endowment, aims to alleviate the daily burdens of families and fulfill one of their most essential needs, JHCO said in a statement.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the organisation distributes between 3,000 and 4,000 food parcels daily across various areas of the Gaza Strip, adding that the coming days will see increased aid deliveries to address growing humanitarian requirements.

Shibli told Al Mamlaka TV on Sunday that the JHCO continues to support Gaza's population based on ongoing needs assessments and priority identification.

He noted that current interventions include distributing drinking water, food parcels, ready-to-eat meals, flour, infant formula, frozen meat, and fresh produce baskets.

On potable water, Shibli stressed that its provision will remain a priority, given its importance as a basic necessity and the difficulties people face in accessing it under the current circumstances.

He also noted that JHCO continues to carry out shelter and health interventions, including the distribution of tarpaulins, medicines, medical supplies and equipment, as well as school maintenance, orphan sponsorships and other assistance, while humanitarian efforts in the Strip continue.
