Chinese embassy marks People's Liberation Army anniversary, highlights ties with Jordan

AMMAN — The Chinese embassy in Amman on Wednesday hosted a reception to mark the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), attended by military and civil officials, diplomats, journalists, and guests.

Military Attaché at the Chinese embassy Col. Li Pengfei praised Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah as a pillar of stability in the Middle East, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He commended the Kingdom's positive and constructive efforts in addressing regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.

Li highlighted China’s readiness to enhance communication and coordination with Jordan to serve peace, stability, and development in the region.

He stressed that the two-state solution is the only just and internationally recognised framework for resolving the Palestinian issue, adding that any new arrangements or mechanisms must bolster this framework rather than undermine it.

The military attaché reiterated China's support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and international efforts aimed at achieving justice for Palestine.

Addressing broader regional and international developments, Li noted that the world is witnessing rapid changes and turbulent international conditions, expressing his country's concern over persistent tensions in the Middle East.

He reiterated China's opposition to any violation of state sovereignty, security, or territorial integrity, emphasising that military conflicts cannot resolve disputes and that regional escalation serves no party's interests.

Li outlined Beijing’s vision based on promoting peaceful development, enhancing international solidarity, rejecting the logic of force, and working towards building a community with a shared future for humanity, adding that China will remain a dedicated force for global peace, stability, and progress.
