AMMAN — Air defence systems intercepted four of six missiles launched from Iran towards the Kingdom on Wednesday, while the remaining two landed in remote, uninhabited areas without causing casualties or damage, a military source saud.

 

The source, at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF), said that air defence systems detected six missiles launched from Iran on Wednesday towards Jordan.

 

The missiles were engaged immediately upon entering Jordanian airspace, the source said, adding that air defence systems successfully intercepted and shot down four of the missiles, while the remaining two fell in two remote, uninhabited areas, causing no casualties or material damage.

 

Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps were deployed to the impact sites and to locations where debris from the interceptions had fallen. The teams secured the areas and handled the remnants in accordance with establishedtechnical and security procedures.

 

The source said that Jordan's airspace remains under continuous operational surveillance and that the Armed Forces will respond to any aerial threat targeting the Kingdom in accordance with the rules of engagement, in a manner that ensures the protection of the Kingdom's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
