On behalf of Queen, Minister honours winners of 2025–2026 Educational Excellence Awards

AMMAN — On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Rania, Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah on Wednesday honoured the winners of the 2025-2026 Educational Excellence Awards during a ceremony at the Cultural Palace at Al Hussein Youth City.
The event marked the 20th anniversary of the awards’ journey, which was established in 2005 under Royal directives to appreciate the pivotal role of teachers in building future generations.
The ceremony included honours for four main categories, including the 20th cycle of the Distinguished Teacher Award, the 9th cycle of the Distinguished Principal Award, the 6th cycle of the Distinguished Supporting Education Directorates Award, and the 2nd cycle of the Distinguished Kindergarten Award, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the event, Mahafzah said that the association has become an integrated model for educational advancement, noting that the ministry has utilised the association’s reports and databases to develop specialised training programmes and informed decision-making based on actual field needs.
The minister added that the ministry is committed to integrating the award outcomes into school practices to foster a culture of excellence and empower distinguished educators to improve the classroom environment and the overall student experience.
For her part, Executive Director of the Queen Rania Award for Educational Excellence Association (QRAEE) Lubna Touqan highlighted that the awards have been fundamental in redefining educational excellence, with a focus on sustainable impact within schools.
This year, the association adopted a new recognition framework that values excellence as a sustainable practice rather than a mere competitive rank, granting the "Certificate of Excellence" as the highest level of honour.
In the category of Distinguished Supporting Education Directorates, awards were presented to the Taybeh and Wasatiyah Directorate, the University District Directorate, and the Irbid Qasabah Directorate.
In the Distinguished Kindergarten category, Certificates of Excellence were awarded to Um Al Hakam Comprehensive Secondary School, Fatima Al Zahra Basic School, Madaba Basic Mixed School, and Maymuna Bint Al Harith Basic School.
For the Distinguished Principal Award, recipients included Israa Ziad Rawashdeh, Rawda Mohammad Umairiyeen, Suhair Mahmoud Salah, Amani Nayef Bashayreh, and Tamadur Ibrahim Muhidat.
Distinguished Teacher Award recipients featured educators across various levels, including Amani Mohammad Salim Zaatari, Khitam Harbi, Amna Mohammad Ghamdi, Suhair Mohammad Azzam, Aida Mahmoud Jaber, and Maryam Khalid Yaqoub.
Other winners included Rasha Abdulaziz Zinati, Amal Rubhi Qutairi, Wujood Yousef Ali, Ruqaya Daoud Shibli, Randa Jamal Shuqairat, Abdulrahman Yahya Jawarneh, Mohammad Salem Khulifat, and Nevin Riyadh Khraisat.
Winners receive financial rewards from the association and non-material incentives through partnerships with the Ministry of Education and various public and private sectors to support their professional and academic development.
The ceremony was attended by board members of the association, educational figures, and partners from various national institutions.
