AMMAN — Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani on Thursday stressed that the 2026 Population and Housing Census will enhance the Kingdom's positive image and directly assist relevant authorities in assessing citizen needs and establishing accurate planning across all sectors.

Momani, who is also the Government spokesperson, said that the census is an essential statistical exercise and a standard global practice used by nations to strengthen future planning tools, adding that Jordan has consistently led efforts to elevate government planning standards and outcomes, according to Momani's post on X.

Momani stressed that data confidentiality remains strictly protected and personal privacy fully safeguarded, noting that necessary verification mechanisms are in place to confirm field researcher identities and address public inquiries.

Field operations for the nationwide census commenced on Thursday and will continue for one month, involving approximately 12,000 field researchers, 60 per cent of whom are women, to cover an estimated 12 million residents, 2.5 million households, and over 1 million buildings across the Kingdom.
