RJ reports net profit of JD21.5m in 2025

AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) on Sunday announced its financial results for 2025, reporting a net profit of JD21.5 million.

The figure includes non-recurring capital gains from the sale of 17-year-old Embraer aircraft and spare parts, compared to a net loss of JD3.5 million in 2024, Al Mamlaka TV reported.

The airline generated annual revenues of around $1 billion, with operating expenses roughly matching that amount, contributing to the company’s stable financial position.

RJ Vice Chairman and CEO Samer Majali said that the airline benefited from operational expansions, allowing fixed costs to be spread across a larger scale of operations, which helped improve financial performance.

He also highlighted that RJ maintained a high aircraft load factor of 81 per cent, supported by new routes and competitive fares.

He added that over the past four years, RJ has pursued a comprehensive restructuring plan, including fleet modernisation, network expansion, and enhancements to passenger services, while promoting air tourism to Jordan.

Majali noted that the airline had initially expected to post profits in 2023, but political developments in Gaza affected results, leading to modest losses, adding that performance improved markedly in 2024, with the positive trend continuing into 2025.

“These results reflect our continuous efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, improve service quality, and modernise our fleet. Royal Jordanian remains committed to expanding its network and enhancing its position as a key regional carrier,” he added.
