AMMAN — The Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training (PTI) signed a cooperation agreement with Abdali Boulevard on Wednesday to enhance women's economic empowerment by supporting the marketing of handicrafts and products made by women participating in the institute's income-generating programmes.

The agreement was signed by PTI Director-General Aghadir Jweihan and Abdali Group CEO Amer Tarawneh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Under the partnership, the open-air venue "The Boulevard's Corner" will be allocated from this month throughout the summer season to showcase and sell products made by beneficiaries of PTI's economic empowerment programmes.

The initiative will also host the "Nemah Market", featuring handicraft, artistic, cultural and entertainment activities, providing participants with wider marketing opportunities and direct access to the public.

The partnership will also enable the PTI to promote its humanitarian and development mission to visitors at Abdali Boulevard, including members of the local community, tourists and private sector representatives.

It will highlight the success stories of women and young people who have benefited from the institute's programmes in training, empowerment, education and social care, helping to broaden its base of supporters and potential partners while boosting the sustainability of its initiatives and humanitarian campaigns.

Jweihan said that the collaboration with Abdali Boulevard represents a “strategic” opportunity to expand PTI's reach and introduce beneficiaries' products to a wider audience.

She added that through the partnership, the foundation will showcase the talents of women and young beneficiaries while introducing visitors to its mission and programmes, which are based on dignity, giving and protection.

Jweihan noted that the initiative will also provide women- and youth-led enterprises with opportunities to market their products and showcase their traditional, cultural and artistic talents through the activities of the Nemah Market.

Tarawneh said: "We are proud at Abdali Boulevard to partner with the Princess Taghrid Institute as this cooperation aligns with our role in supporting national initiatives that create a direct positive impact on society.”

Hosting PTI's products at the Boulevard is not merely about providing a space for display and sales; it also gives visitors the opportunity to discover “inspiring” human stories and products crafted by Jordanian hands that have transformed training and empowerment into genuine opportunities for production and self-reliance, he added.

PTI works to empower and equip disadvantaged groups, particularly young people leaving institutional care after the age of 18, as well as women, young people and persons with disabilities across Jordan.

The partnership forms part of an institute campaign that aims to enhance social protection and empower disadvantaged groups by expanding access to education, training and employment opportunities while building strategic partnerships that deliver sustainable development impact and promote self-reliance.
