AMMAN — Air defense systems intercepted eight missiles that entered the Kingdom’s airspace early Monday, the official spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) said.
The spokesperson said in a statement that the Armed Forces responded to the attacks and successfully destroyed the missiles before they could pose a threat to civilians or property.
He said that the interceptions were carried out based on precise operational assessments and as part of the military’s responsibility to protect Jordanian airspace and safeguard citizens, in accordance with established rules of engagement.
The Jordanian Armed Forces remain at a high level of readiness and will take all necessary measures to protect the country, safeguard its sovereignty, and maintain its security and stability, the spokesperson added.
