AMMAN — Medical teams at the Jordanian field hospitals in Nablus and South Gaza on Thursday have successfully carried out several specialised surgeries.

 

At the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus, medical teams removed an underarm mass from a female patient after clinical examinations confirmed the need for surgery, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) statement.

 

The mass was completely removed and tissue samples were sent for laboratory analysis to determine its nature and guide further treatment.

 

Since beginning operations in 2023, the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus has treated more than 316,395 patients, performed 2,115 major and minor surgeries, and continues to provide emergency, radiology, laboratory and nursing services around the clock.

 

Meanwhile, medical teams at the Jordanian field hospital in South Gaza performed two specialised surgeries.

 

In one case, surgeons removed a 10-centimetre benign fatty tumour from deep within a patient's muscle through minimally invasive surgery under local anaesthesia after she had suffered from the condition for three years.

 

In another case, general and paediatric surgeons saved the life of a nine-year-old girl admitted in critical condition with shrapnel wounds sustained in an explosion.

 

She underwent emergency surgery to repair a heart injury and control severe bleeding before being transferred to the intensive care unit in stable condition.

 

The families of the patients expressed appreciation to the Jordanian medical teams for the specialised care they received.

 

The Royal Medical Services said that the operations reflect the continued humanitarian role of the Jordanian field hospitals, established under Royal directives, in providing healthcare to Palestinians in Nablus and the Gaza Strip.
