A senior Hamas official, who declined to be named, said today that the movement will submit its response for the Gaza ceasefire to the mediators and the relevant parties tomorrow, Monday.

The official, cited by Agence France-Presse (AFP), stated that “A Hamas delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya will arrive in Egypt tomorrow... and deliver the movement's response” to the “Israeli” counter-proposal during a meeting with Egyptian intelligence officials.

"Hamas is open to discussing the new proposal positively," another Hamas source close to the negotiations told AFP.

The Israeli Occupation’s latest proposal includes a willingness to discuss the "restoration of sustainable calm" after prisoner exchange deal is reached - according to two “Israeli” officials cited by Axios.

Earlier today, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned that the planned “Israeli” attack on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip “would be the biggest disaster in the history of the Palestinian people.”

Abbas said that the United States is the only country capable of stopping the looming “Israeli” invasion of the city that houses at least 1.5 million displaced Palestinians.

"We appeal to the United States of America to ask Israel to stop the Rafah operation because America is the only country capable of preventing Israel from committing this crime," Abbas said at a global economic summit in the Saudi capital.
