Foreign minister, Kuwaiti, Qatari counterparts discuss cooperation, regional developments

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Saturday received a phone call from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah.
During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments, ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions, and ways to strengthen regional and international security and stability.
The ministers also stressed the importance of the success of current mediation efforts aimed at ending the crisis and reaching a comprehensive solution that addresses the root causes of tension, ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
Safadi and Sheikh Jarrah also discussed prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Also on Friday, Safadi received a phone call from Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The two ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Qatar, reviewed regional developments, and examined Pakistani mediation efforts between the US and Iran.
Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the continuation of coordinated efforts to support mediation aimed at ending de-escalation in the region and restoring security and stability.
The two ministers also stressed the necessity of concerted action to ensure the success of mediation efforts to reach a sustainable solution that addresses the root causes of the crisis and prevents renewed escalation.
