AMMAN — Amman Design Week (ADW) 2026 has concluded its fourth edition, held over 16 days under the theme “Accumulations”, with the participation of more than 220 designers, makers and creative collectives, and attracting over 65,000 visitors to exhibitions across several locations.

Held from October 2 to 17, this year’s edition featured 204 free events open to the public across Ras Al Ain, Jabal Al Luweibdeh, Jabal Amman and Iraq Al Amir, according to an ADW statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Thursday.

For the first time, the event also extended to Aqaba as part of efforts to expand the presence of design in cultural and public spaces.

The venues welcomed the visitors in the main exhibition at the Hangar in Ras Al Ain, the student exhibition and other displays at Dar Abu Adnan in Jabal Al Luweibdeh, as well as exhibitions at Qasr Al Abd and Naqsh Collective in Iraq Al Amir.

Participating spaces in Jabal Amman also hosted exhibitions, workshops and open days for visitors.

More than 5,300 people took part in the accompanying programme, which included workshops, guided tours, salon sessions and discussions exploring design and its relationship with everyday life and the city.

The programme opened with a discussion between curators Faisal Tabara and Khaled Bashir on the theme “Accumulations”, followed by further discussions on topics including city-making and the relationship between wheat and urban development.

Guided tours covered a variety of routes in and around Amman, exploring street art and architecture.

They also included a walking route organised in cooperation with the Jordan Trail and visits to Iraq Al Amir. Performances were organised in cooperation with Al Balad Theatre, beginning with the opening performance on October 3 and concluding with the final show, “Sumac”.

The statement said that the event aimed to enhance Amman’s position as a regional destination for design and culture. Four permanent design installations will remain in the city’s public spaces after the event, extending the impact of this edition.

ADW Co-Director Sarah Hijazin said that the theme “Accumulations” went beyond serving as the title of this year’s edition to reflect the lasting impact it had created.

She noted that the works produced, skills acquired through workshops, shared cultural memories, venues and four permanent installations would carry forward the legacy of what began during the week.

ADW 2026 was organised in strategic partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality, with contributions from designers, makers, partners and participants, alongside the event’s sponsors.
