Jordan records 7,691 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 7,691 new COVID-19 cases and 18 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 13,142 and the total number of cases to 1,184,856.
 
 
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 2,901 cases, while Zarqa recorded 1,566 cases. Irbid registered 1,346 cases, Balqa 557 cases, Karak recorded 207 cases, Jerash recorded 219 cases, and Tafileh recorded 17 cases. Madaba registered 223 cases, Aqaba 167, Ramtha 70, and Ajloun 202.
 
The ministry said in a statement that 132 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 149 new patients were admitted.
 
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 76,198 according to the ministry. Out of 34,119 COVID-19 tests conducted Thursday, 22.54 percent of them came back positive.
