AMMAN — Exports of Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) grew by 16.1 per cent during the first 11 months of 2025, rising by JD983 million compared with the same period in 2024, in a clear indication of expanding market reach into non-traditional destinations in Africa, Europe and non-Arab Asian countries.
All industrial sectors recorded export growth during the period, with the exception of the wood and furniture sector, which declined by 5.2 per cent, while construction materials registered the highest increase at 68.5 per cent.
According to ACI figures, the chamber’s exports, based on certificates of origin issued from the beginning of 2025 until the end of November, rose to JD7.075 billion, compared with JD6.092 billion in the same period of 2024.
Four countries, India, the United States, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, accounted for more than half of the chamber’s total exports during the period, with a combined value of JD3.933 billion, compared with JD3.726 billion in the corresponding period last year.
Exports to India increased by 23.3 per cent, reaching JD1.105 billion, compared with JD896 million in the corresponding period last year.
Exports to Saudi Arabia rose by 8.6 per cent, amounting to around JD781 million, up from JD719 million in the same period of 2024.
Exports to Iraq grew by 3.3 per cent, reaching JD913 million, compared with JD883 million last year.
While, exports to the United States declined by 7.7 per cent, falling to around JD1.134 billion, compared with JD1.228 billion in the corresponding period last year; however, the US remained among the top destinations for the ACI exports.
The figures indicated a sharp increase in exports to Syria, which rose by 566.7 per cent to JD419 million, compared with JD62 million in the same period last year.
By geographic distribution, exports during the period were led by Arab countries at JD3.386 billion, followed by non-Arab Asian countries at JD1.570 billion, and North America at JD1.181 billion.
Exports to EU member states amounted to JD468 million, while exports to non-EU European countries reached JD225 million.
Exports to African countries stood at around JD136 million, South America at JD66 million, and other destinations at JD42 million.
Sector-wise, the chamber’s exports included mining industries at approximately JD1.770 billion, chemical and cosmetics industries at JD1.268 billion, and engineering, electrical and IT industries at around JD1.179 billion.
Exports from the food, agricultural and livestock industries amounted to JD896 million, while the medical and pharmaceutical industries recorded JD668 million, and the leather and garments sector totalled JD565 million.
Other sectors registered JD254 million in packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies, JD288 million in plastics and rubber, around JD168 million in construction materials, and JD19 million in wood and furniture.
Established in 1962, the ACI today includes 8,600 industrial establishments employing 159,000 workers, with a total capital investment estimated at around JD5 billion.
