A Hamas official told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Sunday that the group had not made a decision on whether to send a delegation to a new round of ceasefire and prisoner exchange talks which is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt.

"There is no indication or decision yet within Hamas regarding sending a Hamas delegation
to a new round of negotiations in Cairo or Doha," the official, who spoke on condition of
anonymity, told AFP.

Another Hamas official said that “Israel” and Hamas are “too far apart for the talks to progress.”

The Egyptian Cairo News Channel reported earlier that there are renewed talks for a ceasefire between Israeli Occupation and Hamas scheduled for Sunday in Cairo.

This comes after nearly six months of aggression in the Gaza Strip.

An Israeli Occupation official stated that a delegation will head to Cairo, while a Hamas representative mentioned they will wait for the outcome of discussions between Egyptian mediators and the Israeli Occupation side.

Negotiations, facilitated by Qatar and Egypt, aim to establish a six-week ceasefire and release 40 out of 130 captives in Gaza.
