AMMAN — Jordan made a qualitative leap in the 2025 Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index, raising its score from 63 per cent in 2024 to 71 per cent in 2025, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship said on Tuesday.

The ministry, in a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the Kingdom registered an 8-percentage-point increase in one year, marking its highest score in four years.

Issued by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the index tracked Jordan's progress from 59 per cent in 2022 to 64 per cent in 2023, 63 per cent in 2024, and 71 per cent in 2025.

Total progress reached 12 percentage points compared to 2022, placing the Kingdom in the "advanced maturity" level.

Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat said that the accomplishment reflects the accelerated implementation of digital transformation targets under the Economic Modernisation Vision to enhance economic competitiveness and government efficiency.

He added that the next phase will focus on expanding proactive services on the "Sanad" application and national platforms.

The Kingdom scored 97 per cent in inter-institutional connectivity, 95 per cent in portal service sophistication, 95 per cent in open data availability, and 91 per cent in service continuity across digital channels.

Jordan also recorded 89 per cent in digital channel security and 80 per cent in digital identity access.

Across main pillars, Jordan achieved 72 per cent in service availability and sophistication, 65 per cent in service usage and user satisfaction, and its highest score of 82 per cent in public outreach, earning a "very advanced" rating.

The assessment covered 99 government services across 41 institutions out of 100 priority services evaluated by ESCWA across Arab nations.
