Lebanese Army reports surge in Israeli Occupation aggression

Roya News

The Lebanese Army has confirmed that the Israeli Occupation has escalated its "aggressions against Lebanon under various pretexts" since Saturday.

In a statement released on Sunday, the army reported that "Israeli" forces conducted numerous airstrikes across the region, targeting areas south of the Litani River and extending into the Bekaa Valley. These attacks have resulted in casualties and significant property damage.

The statement further noted that the Israeli Occupation did not limit its actions to airstrikes; on Sunday morning, various military and engineering vehicles crossed the technical fence and carried out earthworks in the Qatmoun Valley.

Additionally, enemy infantry units entered Lebanese territory, constituting a blatant violation of UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement.

In response to these developments, the Lebanese Army has increased its deployment in the affected areas. A patrol from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was also present to document the violations, while "Israeli" forces retreated back into the occupied territory.

The Army Command is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with UNIFIL and relevant authorities to manage the ongoing tensions along the southern border.
