AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with figures from various sectors, at Al Husseiniya Palace, as part of ongoing outreach meetings.

The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, covered a host of domestic, regional and international topics, according to a Royal Court statement.

The King encouraged any ideas and suggestions that would contribute positively to the country’s future, as it celebrates its centennial this year, the statement said.

Turning to the epidemiological situation, His Majesty noted visible improvement, adding that the government is working to introduce measures to reopen schools and a number of other sectors, which demands continued compliance with public safety measures to avoid any setbacks.

Regionally and internationally, the King said Jordan has strong and long-standing relations with Arab and foreign countries alike.

His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, stressing full support for the Palestinian people, as they seek to gain their just and legitimate rights, the statement said.

For their part, the attendees discussed a number of political, economic, academic, health-related, and social issues, underscoring the importance of building on Jordan's achievements throughout its first 100 years, and urging follow-up on action plans and national strategies to monitor implementation.
