Hot weather to persist across Jordan until Tuesday — JMD

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Hot weather is expected to continue across most parts of Jordan until Tuesday, with temperatures remaining 4–5 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Conditions will be hot in most regions and very hot in the eastern Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, JMD said.

The department warned that dust could reduce horizontal visibility in desert areas and urged the public to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours. It also advised against lighting fires in forested and open areas and stressed the importance of not leaving children or elderly people inside parked vehicles.

A slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, although hot conditions will persist across most areas, with very hot weather continuing in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, according to JMD forecast.

Another slight decrease in temperatures is expected on Monday. However, Monday and Tuesday will remain hot across most of the Kingdom and very hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Some high-level clouds are expected over eastern Jordan, while moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds will continue, occasionally becoming active.

Forecast temperatures for Saturday range from 39°C to 25°C in east Amman and 37°C to 23°C in west Amman. Highs and lows are expected to reach 35°C/22°C in the northern highlands, 34°C/20°C in the Sharah highlands, 43°C/24°C in the eastern Badia, 38°C/20°C in the plains, 44°C/28°C in the northern Jordan Valley, 44°C/30°C in the southern Jordan Valley, and 44°C/29°C at both the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
