AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Sunday welcomed the ceasefire and full integration agreement signed between Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

 

The ministry described the agreement, announced by the Presidency of Syria, as a key step towards strengthening Syria’s unity, stability, and security, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

 

Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali reiterated the kingdom’s support for the agreement, emphasising Jordan’s position in backing Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens.

 

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the US in facilitating the agreement, highlighting the importance of implementing its provisions in the best interests of Syria and its people, while supporting the country’s ongoing recovery and reconstruction efforts.
