EgyptAir has announced the immediate suspension of all flights to and from Beirut, Amman, Baghdad, and Erbil, citing escalating security concerns in the region. The decision, effective as of Sunday, will remain in place until further notice.
In an official statement, the airline said the move was made "in light of ongoing regional developments and out of concern for the safety of passengers and flight crews."
The suspension affects travelers across several key Middle Eastern destinations. EgyptAir has called on passengers with affected bookings to review their travel plans and contact the airline’s customer service center to update their travel details or make necessary adjustments.
To assist affected travelers, EgyptAir provided several contact options:
From within Egypt: Call 1717 from any mobile phone, or 090070000 from a landline.
From outside Egypt: Call +97142306666 or +966122297777.
Online: Visit the official website at www.egyptair.com
In person: Visit any EgyptAir office or an authorized travel agent.
The airline emphasized that it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and will resume flights once it is deemed safe. EgyptAir expressed appreciation for passengers' understanding and cooperation during this period of heightened alert.
This decision follows a wave of precautionary moves by regional carriers amid rising geopolitical tensions across the Middle East.
