AMMAN — President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham) Ali Murad said that His Majesty King Abdullah's tour to Italy, Hungary and Slovenia represents an important step towards boosting economic relations between Jordan and the European Union and opening new horizons for trade and investment cooperation.
Murad told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the visit reflects His Majesty’s continued commitment to expanding economic partnerships, diversifying export markets, and attracting European investments to Jordan in key strategic sectors such as technology, renewable energy, industry and tourism.
He noted that the King’s meetings with European leaders will further consolidate Jordan’s position as a "reliable" regional partner and promote regional stability and development through economic and diplomatic cooperation that serves mutual interests and enhances integration between Jordan and Europe.
Murad added that the European market remains one of Jordan’s “most important” economic destinations, particularly in light of growing trade relations in recent years, stressing the need to boost Jordanian exports and expand access to European markets through new partnership agreements and tariff facilitation measures.
He noted that EuroCham works in coordination with both public and private sectors in Jordan to identify joint investment opportunities with European counterparts, especially in green projects and smart infrastructure that align with global shifts towards sustainable and digital economies.
Murad stressed EuroCham’s “pivotal” role in building bridges of cooperation between Jordan and European countries through reciprocal trade and investment missions designed to introduce European firms to opportunities in Jordan and boost partnerships between private sector institutions on both sides.
He noted that the chamber continuously supports communication between business leaders and investors by organising economic forums and specialised exhibitions that promote Jordanian products and services in European markets and facilitate the participation of Jordanian companies in international events, enhancing the Kingdom’s presence on the European economic map.
