AMMAN — Lowe House speaker Mazen Al Qadi on Thursday led a Jordanian parliamentary delegation to Vietnam, meeting with Arab ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Hanoi.
The meetings were attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Singapore and Non-Resident Ambassador to Vietnam Saeed Radaideh.
Al Qadi highlighted the significance of the visit, which comes three months after His Majesty King Abdullah’s official visit to Vietnam. He noted that the Palestinian issue remained central to political dialogue, citing Vietnam’s support for the two-state solution, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Speaker added that Jordan and Vietnam’s mutual interest in deepening bilateral relations across all sectors would serve as a foundation for strengthening Arab-Vietnamese cooperation.
The Arab ambassadors in Hanoi welcomed the visit, describing it as a step to enhance friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Vietnam.
They praised the meetings with Vietnamese leadership as productive and reaffirmed the importance of expanding the partnership following King Abdullah’s visit at the end of 2025.
Al Qadi also laid a wreath at the tomb of President Ho Chi Minh and at the Martyrs’ Monument. He visited the Imperial Thang Long Citadel, where he received a briefing on Vietnam’s rich history, and toured the Vietnamese Military History Museum, learning about the country’s early state-building and efforts to safeguard national independence.
The visit reflects the growing and strengthening ties between Jordan and Vietnam and marks the first exchange of delegations between the legislative leaders of the two countries since diplomatic relations were established in 1980.
