AMMAN — The Jordan Engineers Association’s (JEA) “full potentials are at the disposal of our brothers in Lebanon”, which is reeling from a massive blast that hit the capital Beirut, the JEA said in a statement shared with The Jordan Times on Wednesday.

“The JEA has enough expertise to support the Lebanese engineers association, and after the catastrophic blast in the capital city of Lebanon there is not only cooperation between associations, but Arab governments are also standing in solidarity with our Lebanese brothers,” JEA Deputy President Fawzi Mesed told The Jordan Times on Wednesday.

Being under the umbrella of the Arab Engineers Federation, “it is our duty to support and assist engineering associations and to pool expertise, aiming at serving the Arab nation”, Mesed said.

JEA members have adequate experience in port engineering, Mesed added.

The JEA is to raise financial and in-kind contributions to provide urgent and necessary construction materials, including glass panels as well as preparing an evaluation team to assess the state and safety of the buildings in the Lebanese capital, he noted.

JEA President Ahmad Samara Zu’bi contacted President of the Lebanese Engineers Association Jad Thabet and expressed full solidarity with the Lebanese people.

He also conveyed condolences to the families of the victims of the blast, according to the statement.
