AMMAN — The "Jordanian Narrative" represents an integrated national project aimed at building a cohesive national consciousness by documenting Jordanians' contributions to state-building across pivotal milestones, Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi said on Monday.

During a meeting with the chairman and members of the "Jordanian Narrative from the Great Arab Revolt to the Present" committee, Qadi noted that the project is rooted in the values of loyalty, achievement and giving, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Qadi highlighted that the project, which receives the support of His Majesty King Abdullah and the “close” follow-up of HRH Crown Prince Hussein, underscores the Royal commitment to consolidating national identity and preserving the state’s historical memory.

The Lower House speaker added that the directives of His Majesty and the Crown Prince serve as a primary motivation to advance the project, thereby enhancing Jordanians' confidence in their country and leadership.

He stressed that the “Jordanian Narrative serves as an authentic voice reflecting Jordan’s deep-rooted identity, bridging history and the present while reshaping the national story.”

He described the project as a platform of hope that inspires future generations to document the nation’s history.

For his part, Bassam Btoush, the committee chairman, said that the project represents an unprecedented scientific and documentary effort.

He noted that the project aims to collect national accounts within a methodical framework that ensures accuracy and objectivity, drawing on reliable sources that reflect the various stages of the Jordanian state’s development.

Btoush added that the committee seeks to provide content that expresses Jordan’s social and cultural diversity and highlights the contributions of all segments of society, fostering a sense of participation and belonging.

He noted that the project seeks to utilise modern documentation and presentation tools to keep pace with the digital age, ensuring the narrative reaches younger generations in an accessible language without compromising its historical and intellectual depth.

Committee members stressed that the narrative reflects the leadership’s belief in the importance of entrenching national identity and collective awareness.

They underlined that the project is a fundamental pillar in the state’s journey towards the future, preserving its heritage for generations to come.
